Full-Stack Software Engineer building backends that scale.

Hi, I'm Shubham Bawane — a Full-Stack Software Engineer with 4.5 years of experience building middleware, APIs and product-facing systems for enterprise-scale platforms. I work primarily with Node.js, React, MongoDB, AWS and cloud-native deployments — with additional experience in IoT and low-level systems.

I currently work as a Full-Stack Engineering Analyst at Accenture, where I build and maintain middleware services, APIs and product integrations for enterprise-scale digital platforms serving high-traffic, customer-facing experiences.

My core strength is backend engineering with Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB and cloud-native environments. I also work across React-based frontend interfaces, API contracts, deployment workflows and production support.

Before Accenture, I worked on IoT prototypes at ARAV Systems, building hardware-software integrations using Raspberry Pi, Python, sensors and real-time monitoring systems. That experience shaped my interest in the intersection of software, systems and hardware.

Outside of work, I'm actively exploring Agentic AI — LangChain, LangGraph, RAG and tool-calling — and using those primitives to build a small set of AI-powered apps. You can see what I'm currently building under Building Next.

Enterprise Platform Middleware

Designed and developed middleware services for enterprise-scale platforms handling high-volume request traffic. Focused on backend APIs, reliability, service-to-service communication and integration with frontend and product systems.

Read the case study
Problem
An enterprise platform required middleware services that could absorb high-volume request traffic while remaining easy to evolve as upstream and downstream contracts changed across releases.
What I built
Backend services and REST APIs that sit between an upstream gateway layer and downstream domain services, with cleanly separated handlers, structured logging and configurable runtime behaviour.
Tech stack
Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, AWS, OpenShift, Docker, REST APIs.
Impact
Stabilised production traffic paths, reduced repeat incident classes through better error surfacing and made integration with adjacent teams faster via clearer API contracts.
Note
Client-specific architecture, naming and metrics are intentionally not disclosed. This case study describes the engineering problem, my contribution and approach only.

Event-Driven Listener Service

Led development of a listener-based backend service supporting enterprise workflow automation. The service handled event-driven communication, backend processing and integration with surrounding systems.

Read the case study
Problem
An enterprise workflow needed a long-running listener that could reliably react to events from multiple sources and coordinate downstream processing without blocking adjacent services.
Architecture
A Node.js listener process exchanging messages with sibling services through UNIX domain sockets and pipes, with structured event handlers and back-pressure-aware processing.
My contribution
End-to-end ownership — designed the IPC layer, implemented core event handlers, wrote tests, integrated with the wider workflow automation initiative and supported the rollout.
Result
A more reliable communication path between services, lower coupling between teams and a cleaner foundation to add new event types incrementally.
Note
Client and internal project details are intentionally sanitised. This case study describes my engineering role and approach only.

Customer Health Survival Prediction

Built an end-to-end ML classification system to predict customer survival outcomes. Implemented preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, REST API exposure and a React-based prediction UI.

Details
Pipeline
Pandas / NumPy preprocessing → Scikit-learn classifier → Node.js REST API → React frontend for real-time predictions.
What I learned
Cleanly splitting ML inference from the product surface using HTTP, and the operational cost of feature drift.

07 — Currently Learning

Where I'm investing my time outside of work.

I'm actively learning and building AI-powered applications — agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool-calling systems and LLM-based assistants. This is exploration, not professional expertise — yet.

Note: these are listed under Currently Learning, not under primary professional skills. They will move once they back real, shipped projects.
